Welcome to my profile

We all have real potential for positive change and release when our voices are heard and understood

There may be experiences, feelings or thoughts that are troubling or distressing you at the moment.

Sometimes what we’re carrying leaves us feeling stuck, trapped, frustrated, uncertain, anxious, alone – perhaps afraid or ashamed.

It can feel difficult to see a way through - hard to even hear, let alone trust, our own voice.

What I’d like to offer you

I’m deeply committed to supporting you to nurture your voice – to explore ways forward from the things that are troubling you, and any changes you want to make.

I will offer you a welcoming, caring and safe space where your ‘voice’ will be heard, and you can feel seen and accepted as yourself.

As a Person-Centred Counsellor, my aim is to sit alongside you, without judgement, but with acceptance and understanding – whatever you bring to our time together.

Building a trusting relationship together in therapy can help you explore your unique experiences freely, and gain new perspectives on the issues that are concerning you.

I will work at your pace, and be there to support you as long as you feel it’s helpful.

I won’t direct you or offer solutions: I will support you to find your way forward, in a way that’s meaningful to you.

My background and experience

I’ve been working with adults as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist since 2015, in both general and more focused counselling organisations, and in independent practice. I’ve provided professional support in educational, residential and other therapeutic settings for over 30 years. I’m a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I’m also a HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist, and this gives me special insights to the impact of a range of health issues and related communication difficulties on our sense of well-being and autonomy. In fact, this is what first drew me to train as a Counsellor.

I have experience as a counsellor in a range of areas, including:

  • the impact of short- or long-term health conditions and/or communication difficulties

  • loss and bereavement

  • relationship difficulties

  • neurodiversity

  • gender and sexuality

  • anxiety and stress

  • self-esteem and confidence

Sessions

I work face-to-face at 673b Abbeydale Road, Sheffield S7 2BE.  I also work online.

Fees: £50 for a 60 minute one-to-one session.

We can arrange a free 15 minute initial phone chat to discuss starting therapy if this is helpful.
